About Us

The Sustainable Freight (SF) Research Program is a growing research and policy program in the Institute of Transportation Studies of the University of California, Davis. It grows out of the STEPS program and focuses on truck, rail and other freight sectors and on technologies for decarbonization, along with analysis of logistics systems.  The Center receives support from a range of government and industry partners, planning agencies and research foundations, and works in close cooperation with the federally funded National Center for Sustainable Transportation and the other research programs at UC Davis. Job Summary

Under the direction of STEPS director and research team, the Sustainable Freight Research Analyst will be a member of ITS research team. The Research Analyst will develop and execute research projects relating to new vehicle technologies, low carbon fuels, and other transportation and energy systems, to contribute to multiple ongoing research projects. The Research Analyst will conduct research and obtain data to develop models, conduct scenario analysis using these models, contribute to report-writing and documentation, and engage with internal and external stakeholders to disseminate results, provide technical assistance to policy makers and promote better understanding of current state-of-the-art research and modeling techniques.
