Shopping Tours as Markovian Chain

The objective of this study is to simulate typical shopping tours as Markovian chain using the American Time Use Survey (ATUS) and the National Household Travel Survey (NHTS). To do so, the study will evaluate the transition probabilities from each stop to another for every minute in a day, thus, creating 1440 transition matrices. The figure below shows some preliminary results.
